RIHANNA: Fashion Firsts

Rihanna is making history with her latest fashion move.

The name and brains behind the Fenty brand and collaborations with Puma, Stance and Armani is partnering with the legendary Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy. That makes RiRi the first woman to create an original brand at the luxury fashion house. She’ll also be the first woman of color at the head of a Louis Vuitton maison. And it will be the first new house created by Louis Vuitton since Christian Lacroix, over 30 years ago.

The Fenty brand will be based in Paris and will sell ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories. A statement says the brand “is centered on Rihanna, developed by her, and takes shape with her vision.” (New York Times)
