Doja Cat paused her weekend performance for 5-minutes at Lollapalooza Argentina. She feared that a concertgoer was in medical distress. Doja Cat shouted to the sound engineers to cut the backing track (quote) “Wait, wait, wait. Somebody needs help over there. I’m sorry, I can’t keep going if things aren’t good. It’s nobody’s fault. West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler let her followers know that she has yet to secure a ticket the Academy Awards. The 20-year-old is not nominated. Co-star Ariana DeBose is up for Supporting Actress. The Steven Spielberg movie earned seven nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Rachel said her fashion on Oscar night will be (quote) “Sweatpants and my boyfriend’s flannel.” (USA Today)
A protest forced Prince William and Kate Middleton to cancel their first stop of a Caribbean tour. They planned to visit a Cacao plantation in Belize. However, an indigenous group complained they had not been consulted about the Royal helicopter landing on the village soccer field. One of the leaders told a London newspaper (quote) “We have suffered the legacy of colonialism and we are directly still being impacted by that.” (E! News)
Georgia farmer Rick Ross has two new animals grazing on his ranch: A pair of bison that will grow to be 3000-pounds. One arrived with the name Champ. The other Rick Ross named “Timbuktu.” (New York Post)
The second season of Bridgerton premieres at the end of this week. The reviews are positive, with a single exception. Despite obvious sexual tension between the leads, their fiery passion leaves you edging until very late into the 8-episode season. (Variety)
