GAYLE KING, NORAH O’DONNELL: “Ebony and Ivory”
Written by KingCnote on May 7, 2019
CBS This Morning co-hosts Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell sung away rumors of a beef between them on Monday. The song they chose to convey their mutual regard was not “Give Peace a Chance” but rather “Ebony and Ivory,” the 1982 hit duet by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder.
The performance took place at the Sheraton in Times Square, where O’Donnell accepted a Matrix Award.
Beef or not, the two will soon no longer be working together. O’Donnell is leaving the morning show, bumping Jeff Glor out of the anchor chair at CBS Evening News, while King will continue to reign as queen of CBS This Morning. The third current member of the team, John Dickerson, will move to 60 Minutes and be replaced by Anthony Mason.
The three stars were all lovey-dovey on this morning’s show, praising each other, refuting rumors of ill feelings and enthusing about their futures. (PageSix)
