2. M3GAN –  $21.2 million
3. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish – $$17.3 million
4. A Man Called Otto – $15 million
5. Plane – $11.6 million

Avatar: The Way of Water continues to perform strongly at the box office, earning $38.5 million over the four-day Martin Luther King Junior holiday weekend and topping the list for the fifth straight week.

The James Cameron blockbuster has now earned $570.3 million domestically and $1.9 billion globally.

M3GAN remained in second with $21.2 million, followed by Puss in Boots: The Last Wish – ($17.3 million) and the Tom Hanks drama A Man Called Otto ($15 million).

The action flick Plane, starring Gerard Butler, opened in fifth with $11.6 million.

And the remake of the 1990 comedy House Party debuted in sixth with $3.8 million.
