The Top 5 movies this weekend:

1. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – $18.5 million
2. The Bad Guys – $9.7 million
3. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 – $7.1 million
4. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – $3.9 million
5. Everything Everywhere All at Once – $3.3 million

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, rose to the top of the box-office charts with $18.5 million following its release on Friday. 

Animated movie The Bad Guys fell to second but remains popular, having grossed $57 million in the two weeks since its release. 

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 fell from second to third this week. This long-awaited sequel made $7.1 million this week and has made a total $170 million since its release a month ago on April 8th. 

Action-packed viking flick The Northman fell from fourth to sixth with $2.7 million. 

Indie flick Everything Everywhere All at Once has stayed in fifth with a total of $41 million.
