This R-rated horror mystery arrives Thursday afternoon for previews on 3700 screens. If it under performs, do not blame the positive critical reviews, nor strong word-of-mouth. Blame the 2-hour and 15-minute runtime. (Deadline)

NOPE is an ideal escape into an air-conditioned movie theater. Folks with central air may opt to stay on the couch this Friday and Netflix the Ryan Gosling – Chris Evans spy thriller, The Gray Man.
