BOX OFFICE FORECAST

Written by on January 13, 2022

The successful box office run for Spider-Man: No Way Home hits a speedbump this weekend with the arrival of Scream.

No Way Home has topped the box office chart for a month. In its fifth weekend, Spider-Man will collect another $16 million.

Scream is projected to take home at least $20 million through the four-day Martin Luther King holiday.

It’s been more than decade since the previous Scream. This entry in the franchise, featuring the returning cast of Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, is dubbed a “re-quel” (reboot plus sequel). Previews start tonight.

In limited release, the animated Japanese film Belle, will play on 1300 screens. The story follows a shy high schooler who escapes into virtual reality and becomes a “globally beloved singer.” (Deadline)
