Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will repeat as box office champion unless Dear Evan Hansen over-performs on 3300 screens.

The big-screen adaptation of a Broadway musical, Dear Evan Hansen, stars Ben Platt playing an anxious high school teen who becomes caught in a fantastical lie. Co-stars include Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Amandla Stenberg and Kaitlyn Dever.

Revenue for Dear Evan Hansen will approach $10 million. Though Shang-Chi might make as much as $12 million in its fourth week playing at mega-plexes. (Variety)
