Four new movies will probably fall short against Ryan Reynolds in Free Guy. Even with a 50% drop in ticket sales, it’s on target to make another $14 million in its second weekend.
Next best should be the family-friendly PAW Patrol movie with celebrity voices of Kim Kardashian, Dax Shepard and Tyler Perry. Paw Patrol will play at 2800 theaters and stream at Paramount-Plus. Revenue might exceed $10 million.
Two films for adults are expected to earn around $5 million. They are a revenge flick, The Protégé, starring Michael Keaton, Maggie Q and Samuel L. Jackson. Also there’s a futuristic romance, Reminiscence, with Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson and Thandiwe Newton. The movie also streams starting today at HBO Max.
The horror flick The Night House impressed then film critics. It is 87% percent fresh at Rotten Tomatoes. The ghost story will struggle to make $3 million on 2100 screens. (Deadline)
