Three movies arrive this weekend to theaters. The Aretha Franklin bio-pic, a sequel to Don’t Breathe and a video game-inspired romantic comedy.
Ryan Reynolds stars in Free Guy. Disney opted to release the sci-fi action rom-com to theaters only to avoid simultaneous streaming to sabotage box office results. Free Guy will play on 4100 screens with ticket sales approaching $20 million. Preview screenings of Free Guy start tonight.
The Aretha Franklin bio-pic, Respect, stars Jennifer Hudson. Showtimes start this afternoon. Weekend revenue will struggle to reach $10 million.
