The coronavirus may keep some moviegoers home.

Disney and Pixar will release Onward. Chris Pratt and Tom Holland voice the lead elf characters, who magically spend one more day with their dead father. Onward should make at least $40 million in its premiere weekend.

Ben Affleck did not have to stretch as an actor in the drama The Way Back. Affleck plays an alcoholic with a failed marriage. He finds redemption by returning to his high school and coaching their basketball team. The Way Back will struggle to earn $7 million.

Expanding to 1,500 screens is Emma, based on the Jane Austen classic. Expectations are low. Revenue could approach just $5 million. (Box Office Mojo)
