It will be lights out for the competition against the movie Doctor Sleep, which is adapted from the Stephen King novel. The story is a sequel from the award-winning Shining with actor Ewan McGregor playing the fully grown Danny Torrance. Doctor Sleep is projected to earn this weekend at least $25 million. Previews start tonight.

The romantic comedy Last Christmas starring Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding. Michelle Yeoh and Emma Thompson could make $15 million. Same for the World War II movie, Midway, with an ensemble cast of Woody Harrelson, Mandy Moore, Dennis Quaid, Aaron Eckhart, Darren Criss, Luke Evans and Patrick Wilson.

Playing With Fire is a PG-comedy with John Cena, Keegan-Michael Key and Judy Greer. Weekend revenue will struggle to reach $10 million. (Deadline Hollywood)
