The only new movie this weekend could have trouble toppling Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as the most popular in North America. Both Spider-Verse and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts are projected to earn around $55 million.

Rise of the Beasts will make twice that amount internationally but faces headwinds in the States. The reviews are lukewarm for this seventh installment in the franchise that’s suffered from dwindling box office receipts with each successive release. (Deadline)

Tracking numbers were released for the first weekend of July, which is effectively the Fourth of July holiday. Harrison Ford returning to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny may debut around $70 million. However, the early Transformers forecast was also $70 million. (The Hollywood Reporter)
