DAVID BLAINE: Wednesday Balloon Ride

David Blaine intends to float 3.5 miles into the sky while holding onto 52 weather balloons. YouTube will live-stream the event starting at 9 a.m. eastern.

Blaine said on Tuesday he would narrate throughout the voyage (quote) “I’m going to provide my point of view through the whole thing.”

To qualify for the stunt, Blaine had to obtain a pilot’s license. The FAA deemed his 52 helium balloons flying at 18,000 feet as an “experimental aircraft.” (Variety)
