Janelle Monae sang (and danced up a storm) “Rock Steady.”
Andra Day sang “Freeway of Love.”
Kelly Clarkson sang “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You).”
Celine Dion sang “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
H.E.R. sang and played guitar on “I Say a Little Prayer.”
John Legend sang “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”:
Fantasia Barrino and Rob Thomas duetted on “I Knew You Were Waiting (for Me).”
Alessia Cara sang “Until You Come Back to Me.”
Andrea Day, Fantasia Barrino, Alessia Cara and Brandi Carlile closed the two-hour show with “(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman.”
Clive Davis got an award.
Smokey Robinson reminisced about his dear friend.
