LIL NAS X: $25 Million Copyright Suit

Lil Nas X faces a $25 million lawsuit for plagiarizing a 1982 song. Welcome to the big time, son. Once you become successful, they come out of the woodwork.
The copyright infringement suit claims a striking similarity between the Lil Nas X song “Carry On” and a 35-year-old tune of the same name by Bobby Caldwell.
The attorneys say the newcomer used the same music and didn’t even bother changing the title. They want $10 million in damages plus another $15 million in punitive damages. (Billboard)
Be the jury. Does “Carry On” by Lil Nas X sound like a sped-up “Carry On” from the ’80s?
